“Brown is beautiful” is a new theme for golf course superintendents around the country. An effort to conserve water often results in areas of golf courses going dormant. Unfortunately, for Widow’s Walk golf course in Scituate, they have no water at all. The state of Massachusetts has ordered them to stop watering all fairways. In this case, brown isn’t beautiful, it’s mandatory.
